Welcome to The Merciful Market! We’re so glad you’re here.
We’re a small, family-owned business with a love for handmade treasures, affordable finds, and the simple joys of life.
But our story didn’t begin with a business plan, a storefront, or even a dream of owning a market.
It started with 1 cup of potato flake sourdough starter.
What began as a random hobby to keep me entertained through the winter slowly became something so much more. Somewhere between feeding my sourdough starter, kneading dough, and waiting for bread to rise, I began to fall in love with a slower, simpler way of living.
I started craving more than just freshly baked bread. I craved peace. Cozy mornings. Intentional living. A home filled with love, laughter, and the people who matter most.
Most importantly, I wanted to build a life where our family could spend more time together, create things with our own hands, and find joy in the little moments that are so easy to overlook.
What started in our kitchen eventually grew into a love for creating, finding hidden treasures, and dreaming about what we could build together as a family.
And little by little, The Merciful Market began to take shape.
The meaning behind our name
New every morning
The name The Merciful Market is inspired by one of our favorite reminders of God’s faithfulness:
“It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
Those words hold a special place in our hearts. Our journey hasn’t always been picture-perfect, but through every season, God’s mercy has remained constant. He has opened doors, provided opportunities, and given us a place to put down roots and begin building something greater than we ever imagined.
We believe that every new morning is another opportunity to grow, create, and walk in the purpose God has for us. And that’s exactly what we hope The Merciful Market represents — a beautiful reminder that something meaningful can grow from even the simplest beginnings.

We love the idea that something doesn’t have to be brand-new, expensive, or extravagant to bring someone joy. Sometimes the smallest things become the sweetest memories. And whether we’re baking in the kitchen, creating something at the craft table, or hunting for our next great find, we’re grateful that we get to do it together.
